Intro
Hello everybody! I’m Stepan, and this is the beginning of my personal blog. First of all, let me
tell you who I am and what I’m up to.
It all started back in 2012 when I got my first personal computer. For some, it may sound surprising,
but that’s how technological progress looks in a small mountain village. Anyway, the things that
little device could do were mind-boggling. Videos, music, games, image editing…
I just couldn’t get enough of that and was constantly jumping from one thing to another.
Then it stabilized around one particular game and I was trying to earn some money doing
game-related art for people. Don’t ask me to show, it’s a shame. But to my wonder now, I was
actually able to get some money for that.
By the time I finished school, it became clear (with a little push from my mom) that a
computer-related career is the best to pursue, despite everyone in the school thinking I would
go into sports. I did a lot of skiing, football, etc. at the time, so for the naked eye, this was a natural
thing to pursue. But my real passion was different.
After school, I got into a technical college, not really knowing what exactly I wanted to do,
just “something with computers”. Luckily I met a friend, who was really passionate about
programming and it turned out to be contagious. I was not vaccinated against that,
so it has become my greatest passion also.
After college, I relocated to Wrocław (from Ukraine) and here I am, studying computer science
at WUST and meeting all of you in the English class.
My hope is to become more fluent in English, in particular, writing (that’s what I’m doing right now)
and speaking. I guess you have a similar goal, so let’s help each other with that.
Cheers!
Hi Stepan!
ReplyDeleteReading your blog, I had the impression that you are precise and can make decisions.
I know what it's like to make an important decision that is a shock to everyone. In elementary and middle school my favorite subject was math. The teachers thought I would choose a high school with math and physics classes.
I chose a piano-building technical school.
I don't work as a piano technician now, but this school "opened my mind", I became more independent and responsible because I had to move 100km from home.
I don't regret my decision and, funnily enough, I passed the exams better than my friends from the best high schools!
I wish You all the best and never regret the decisions You make!
Hello Stepan!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your blog, I can say that I am full of admiration that you have chosen such a difficult career. The most difficult for me is a combination of fondness to the computer and sport. Referring to what you wrote, I think that there is nothing wrong and you shouldn’t feel shame that you wanted to earn money from your passion. In my opinion, this is the best way to be happy, when you earn from what you like to do.
I wish you well.
